What is Switch in and Switch out?

Switch in & Switch out is a facility offered by mutual funds to their investors with an option to switch their investment from one open ended scheme to another within the same fund house to avail the benefit of the market cycle and the investment strategy. Investors will have to take into consideration the minimum investment amount criteria for both switch-in and switch-out schemes. There may be implications of exit-load and capital gains tax while switching.
